The 75-year-old musician previously wrote about his life and The Doors in the 1991 autobiography, “Riders on the Storm,” and in 2013 he wrote “The Doors Unhinged: Jim Morrison’s Legacy Goes on Trial,” which was about the legal battle he fought with former bandmates Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek.įor this book, though, he wanted to talk about artists he describes as “musical masters who achieved their mystical destiny through sound.” “There are various musicians, writers, artists that have fed me artistically through the years and I’m hoping that the reader will also get fed artistically by these stories,” Densmore said during a telephone interview about the upcoming book.
